Advances in Technology for Above Ground Storage Tanks Reduce Footprint and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Enviro Vault’s DuoVault™ and ThermoVault™ Products Provide Oil and Gas Producers Options to Reduce Environmental Impact
Enviro Vault Canada Ltd. will be introduced two new above ground storage tank technologies at the Gas and Oil Exposition in Calgary.
DuoVault™ by Enviro Vault Canada Ltd. is a new “Tank in a Tank” design that provides 110% secondary containment. It eliminates the need for a berm/dike system which reduces the footprint of above ground storage tanks.
The ThermoVault is an Enviro Vault with multiple catalytic or electric heaters designed to offer a cleaner, safer alternative to firetubes for smaller BTU heat requirements and reduced air emissions.
“We continue to invest heavily into research and development for innovative tank technology and are currently working with both the Alberta and national research councils to develop new products and solutions,” Hebblethwaite said. “It is our commitment to this innovation that will enable us to continue providing the next generation solutions for tank safety and environmental stewardship.”
Based in Calgary, Alberta, founder Russ Hebblethwaite developed the Enviro Vault to improve the performance of oil storage tanks in field operations. The patented ‘internal chamber’ serves to improve environmental performance, safety and operations by containing fluid spills from inlet and outlet valves attached to the tank, providing ground level access to valves and instruments in addition to preventing frozen valves when installed with catalytic heaters.
The Enviro Vault is the patented concept whereby a recessed chamber is installed “inside” the tank with an access door through the tank wall. All valves, sample taps, electronic controls, and heater (if required) are mounted in the Enviro Vault.
Enviro Vaults can be fitted in any size or shape of new tank or in-service tank for any specific application – heavy oil, roduction tanks, produced water, rental tanks, instrumentation packages, separator packages and any other application where a tank is required.
